Merrill Leonard, owner of Twistoff Design, is trained in architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and experienced in residential design/build. She has also held design roles focused on the user experience from exhibits to graphics to branding. Returning to her architecture roots, Merrill puts that user perspective to work in her small home plans.

 

Home plans have historically been designed for speculative builders who prefer a "one size fits all" plan. Merrill's method is to prioritize homeowner lifestyle needs and build the design around that, because with small, every square inch matters.
